POST /rest/posts auth=Bearer lt ver=202605 {"author": "urn:li:person:abc123", "commentary": "A collaborative robot arm now costs about ¥770,000 in Japan. Buying one is easy. Using it for client work is not.\n\nI started from a video by PyBrain AI, a Korean robotics startup. Their mobile picking robot runs on a cheap mini PC and sends vision inference to a GPU machine elsewhere in the building, with a round trip of about 0.65 seconds. Their arm is a FAIRINO FR5, the same family that MicroFactory uses.\n\nThat made me want the arm as an option for my own work, so I looked into what it takes to deploy one in Japan. A few things stood out:\n\n- Most legal duties sit with the user, not the supplier: the risk assessment for fenceless use, special safety training for anyone who teaches the robot, written work rules\n- The supplier's job is to hand over what the user needs to meet those duties: a list of remaining hazards, instructions, settings, and a plan for re-checking safety when a learned model or gripper changes\n- ISO 10218 \\(2025\\) now evaluates the application, not the robot. Change the gripper, and you re-evaluate\n- In hospitals, a transport robot needs no license, but drug-handling rules, fire doors, elevators, and radio policy all apply. Most of the months it takes to deploy go into getting each department to sign off\n\nI also made a mistake on the way: I compared FR3 and FR5 prices from different countries. From the same store, the gap is about ¥50,000. The only real difference is size.\n\nPhysical AI keeps getting more capable. But the last step into a real site seems to be people deciding who decides what.\n\nWhere do you see deployments slow down most: the technology, or the sign-offs?\n\n{hashtag|\\#|Cobot} {hashtag|\\#|RobotDeployment} {hashtag|\\#|PhysicalAI} {hashtag|\\#|HospitalRobotics} {hashtag|\\#|協働ロボット} {hashtag|\\#|ロボット導入}\n\n協働ロボットのアームは、日本でいま約77万円で買える。 , "thumbnail": "urn:li:image:IMG1"}}, "lifecycleSt
