Designing "Reliability" Beyond Functions
■ A Vessel for Empathy
Hakobu-kun acts as a "vessel" for kindness, delivering a senior's support alongside medical supplies to transform from a machine into a "trusted partner".
■ Modality of Warmth
The tray opening is designed to feel like gift-giving. Providing space for non-medical items like chocolates and notes lowers the psychological barrier for busy staff.
■ Conclusion
HRI focuses on sustaining the mental health of frontline workers, rather than prioritizing efficiency alone.
