What Nothing Looks Like
■ The decision happened where no one was watching
At night Hakobukun detected a puddle, routed around it, and finished the delivery. Next morning: "Nothing much happened yesterday." Accurate — nothing happened because something handled it.
■ Only failure gets remembered
The log showed 14 avoidance decisions: 14 stoppages and incident reports that never occurred. Human judgment runs on deviation. Success is invisible because it's indistinguishable from an empty night.
■ Conclusion: what isn't measured isn't funded
Unmeasured work gets cut first — the obvious candidate is whatever seems to change nothing when removed. Visibility isn't a feature here; it's a survival condition, and it exists for the humans making the call.
Accidents can be counted. Accidents that didn't happen exist only if someone counts them.
